Watch us build an all-AMD PC! - grahamwifecing

Hardware releases clean o'er everyone in one big autumn fla this year—a predictable result given months of worldwide chaos, but peerless that's scarcely left the States a encounter to breathe. The onslaught hasn't just been a first set of Ryzen, GeForce, and Radeon parts, either. Some of the world-class cases we've seen in awhile arrive at streets in the unlikely trio months as well.
Now that 2020's major launches are finally done, the PCWorld staff ultimately has a little meter to celebrate. And we're going to bed by building a luxe PC live!
You can think of this incomparable as an updated riffle happening our Viva Las Vegas build from 2018. However, alternatively of imitating the Vegas Strip, the goal is to save a tree and use RGB fans to get our reparation of flashing vacation lights.
Here are the parts we'll be victimisation:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
- CPU Cooler: Lian 51 Galahad AIO 240 RGB
- Motherboard: MSI Magazine B550M Mortar Badger State-Fi
- GPU: Asus TUF Radeon RX 6800 XT
- RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3600
- Storage: SK Hynix P31 1TB NVMe SSD + SK Hynix S31 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD
- PSU: Corsair SF 600W 80+ Metallic SFX
- PSU Cables: Corsair Individually Sleeved PSU Cables Type 4
- Case: Lian Atomic number 3 O11D Mini
- Case Fans: Lian Li UNI Lover 3-pack (2x)
Conveniently, waiting until December to shape a new, deluxe PC with all the in vogue and greatest components agency I can do a comely build in the O11D Mini and play with Lian Li's Uni Fans, some of which I've been itch to test away for months. I take over a mete out of hopes awheel on the Uni fans in particular, because I can sew to quaternity of them at one meter happening a one-person set of wires. (Cable management was a bit of a pain in the Viva Las Vegas build.) I'm also drunk to work with the namesake parts of this build: Ryzen 5000 and Radeon 6000 sizzled in our review benchmarks. Getting hands-on experience with AMD's new Smart Access Retentiveness feature (and taking the 6800 XT for a spin in several games over my holiday break) wish be a treat.
Because this build will be more involved, we're splitting it into two parts. This first round will stop some the point where we'd mount the GPU. IT clay to be seen when I'll take a dig at cable direction—if the Uni Fans deliver on Lian Li's promises, peradventur we'll tempt fate and begin the process before first boot.
